A Quick Dive...
Filling the air with tropical fruits, earth, chem and melons, the incredibly unique Guelah Papaya is definitely one not to sleep on! With a fast flowering time of 7-8 weeks, finding a place for this variety in your seed collection is an obvious move. Although phenotypes may need some heavy defoliation, this cultivar is expected to wash in the +4% range based on its parents and testing. Trichome stalks will vary between short and long, while resin gland heads are larger than normal. Holding the tag line, "Don't Miss This Melon", Guelah Papaya is a wonderful cross between Papaya and JOMO (Joy of Missing Out).
Let's dive further into the lineage, and why Guelah Papaya should be your next choice!
Papaya: Parent of Guelah Papaya Strain
Originally created by Nirvana Seeds, Papaya was bred as a tropical-take on the old Mango variety. A cross between Citral #13 and Ice #2, Papaya is longer flowering than her Guelah Papaya progeny, taking 9-11 weeks to reach maturity. Known for producing Cup-winning hash and rosin, she's characterized by her smells of tropical fruit cocktails with sweet syrup, speckled with notes of pepper.
Ice, known for Winning the 1998 High Times Cannabis Cup, is rumored to be a three or four way cross between a Pure Afghani, Skunk, and Northern Lights. The additional cross is thought to be a Shiva Skunk, which also happens to be Skunk #1 x Northern Lights #5. ICE, being an acronym for Indica Crystal Extreme, is apparently great for hash production.
The specific cut or clone of Papaya used in the making of the Guelah Papaya cross came from BA Botanicals, a recreational cannabis producer out of Oregon.
JOMO (Joy Of Missing Out): Parent of Guelah Papaya Strain
JOMO, "bred for hash" as described by its breeder Shwale, is the second parent of the Guelah Papaya strain. Filled with savory garlic notes ranging from funky to floral sweet chems, terp profiles have been described as: Dirty Gym Socks, Spirit Molecule, Fabric Softener CHEMS, and Black Garlic. Considered a "dumper" or "washer", she gets consistent WPFF returns in the 6% range, with extra extra large resin glands.
Being the progeny of award-winning strain GMO (Garlic Cookies) and Sugar Shack, it's easy to see why Guelah Papaya and other JOMO crosses, such as JOMO the Hutt, have such high value in the cannabis community.
Guelah Papaya: a Melody of Melons and Tropical Fruits for Hashers
Obviously, this strain is packed with all the right genetic ingredients to potentially produce some of the finest tropical fruit and peppered melon hash or hash rosin the world has ever seen. Filled with award-winning relatives powered by weakneck-focused-breeding, Guelah Papaya was meant for solventless flavor lovers.
If you're the type of person that values having the best among the rest, I encourage you to reward yourself with a pack of Guelah Papaya seeds before the world passes you by.
