💎 Golden Goat - Kansas, Island Sweet Skunk and some dude named Mr. Dank
Golden Goat was one of those happy accidents, created by way of an unintended pollination from a Hawaiian-Romulan male to an Island Sweet Skunk female. Owned by a gentlemen living in Kansas (Topeka) named Mr. Dank, said seeds were at some point ran through and a keeper chosen.
Thought to have been inspired by John "Tyke" Miller's can-recycling machine, whose sweet smells of soda fermenting permeated the surrounding air as it dripped everywhere, the clone-only strain was eventually named Golden Goat.
Known for its sweet tropical-fruit terpene profile and sativa-dominant genetics, this now-thought-to-be-rare strain typically sells out as fast as it arrives.
🍌 Banana Spliff: the banana in Banana Goat
Bred by Bodhi Seeds, Banana Spliff is a cross between Banana OG x Wookie 15.
Let's go even further into the Banana OG and Wookie 15.

🍌👻Banana OG: the banana in Banana Spliff
Bred by OrgnKid, Banana OG is a famous cross involving his OG Kush (Ghost OG) female and a Sagarmatha 60/40 Banana Phenotype as the male.
Thought to have been found in a bag of seeds OrgnKid purchased at auction on Seed Bay (from Gypsy Nirvana?), the heavy banana phenotype of Sagarmatha 60/40 more than likely refers to a bulk batch of seeds sold by Sagarmatha Seeds that was 60% indica and 40% sativa, and unnamed.
about 7 or 8 years ago I asked Tony of Sagarmatha seeds if he had anything I could buy in bulk to give away as 'freebies'.......since he was selling quite a few seedlines at the time that had particular names and were going for certain prices, he said that he would sell me about half a kilo of various seeds that were only named as to their indica/sativa hybrid percentages and not as to what actual Sagarmatha varieties they were since this could upset other vendors who were selling Sagarmatha seeds......the 60/40 was one of the 'un-named' varieties that Tony sold me........and mostly they were given away.....
A later Sagarmatha 60/40 discussion repeats the same origin story more specifically, recalling that OrgnKid used a Ghost OG cut and a Sagarmatha 60/40 male to make Banana OG.
As far as whether it was a Ghost OG or OG Kush female, the answer seems to be phenotypic in nature. While some growers debate the physical differences between each cut, one user on OverGrow.com who goes by "sober" posted this screenshot from Josh D (OG Kush Story) explaining they are in fact, the same.
🐻 Wookie 15: a Bodhi Seeds cross
As for the second half of Banana Spliff, enter Wookie 15.
Wookie 15 is a mostly-indica cross from Bodhi Seeds, built from Big Buddy’s Lavender and Appalachia.
Packed with lavender and grapefruit expressions, the #15 Wookie is often referenced as the male counterpart of the #7 selection, according to this post on OverGrow.
🌄 What about Appalachia?
Appalachia is widely identified in history as Green Crack x Tres Dawg, made by breeder High and Lonesome.
You can imagine the heavy chem from Tres Dawg mixed with the sweet overripe mangos from the Green Crack, blended ever-so perfectly.
Now take that and add in some Lavender (Big Buddy's cut) and we're back to Wookie 15. Add that to Banana OG and we have Banana Spliff. Cross that to some Golden Goat from Kansas and we're...
